Snowy Lunchtime in Greenville

On Presidents’ Day, I had to work; the bright side was that I got to take the car to work (which I rarely do) and had free time at lunch to go beyond the four block radius around my office.

Musket fire in a colonial cemetery

It’s been raining in Delaware, probably for 40 days and 40 nights, so the amount of time I’ve spent hanging out in graveyards has been directly proportional to the amount of mud my little Honda and white Keds can handle.

But I’ve had the itch to go exploring, so I set out during a break in the rain on the morning of July 4th to check out Coffee Run Cemetery near Hockessin—an appropriate spot for the day, since Coffee Run is the site of what was Delaware’s oldest Catholic Church and part of Delaware’s early Catholic history.
